Academie In Situ is a method for artistic participatory research in spatial planning processes, developed by artist-educator Heidi Linck. The method is a socially engaged art practice aimed at changing the way we perceive, give meaning to and use our spatial environment. Instead of following a pre-designed research protocol, Academie In Situ brings a more intuïtive approach to researching a specific site. However unpredictable the route, it always starts from a site-specific research question and results in a both inspiring and professional answer. Academie In Situ as a method mixes techniques like Walking, Observation, Interviewing, Cartography, Photography, Drawing and Writing.
